Tilinanu is an orphanage in Lilongue, Malawi, Africa and loves and cares for girls who either have no parents or one parent who is unable to support and look after them. On Saturday 29th August 2009, Tilinanu was opened and at present is the home to 34 angels. Tilinanu wants to provide for the children in this village a life without stress of health or worries about when their next meal is going to be.
The founder of this heart-warming charity, Alice Pulford, was inspired to start the orphanage when she met the Mkandawire family. Alice met the children at their daily afternoon meet, where the children gather on the Mkandawire's land to play games, learn and eat porridge. In the village, there was a derelict church, which all the children dreamed about transforming, but unfortunately were unable to, as this required a lot of money.
Alice was able to raise some money and took 100% of the donations over there and managed to complete and transform the derelict church into a girls orphanage. Raynsway Group were able to sponsor a young princess in Malawi at Tilinanu called Jessy Tchale.
As Christmas time is approaching fast, we are sending a shoebox full with gifts to Malawi for Jessy. If you would like to do something similar, for more information visit the Samaritan's Purse website.
